Hi, In Open Science Grid, we modify JobDescription.pm. The patch is currently only installed on OSG sites (at install time, not build time), so I haven't been too worried about it. The purpose of the patch is to fill a job's environment with variables that are local to the site. The variables are all within a Bourne shell script. I'm thinking of applying the patch for all VDT installations, not just OSG ones, and I want to make sure that there are no side effects of this patch. It *should* be the case that if the file $GLOBUS_LOCATION/../monitoring/osg-attributes.conf does not exist, that it has no effect on other installations. Charles Bacon and I agreed that it would be good to run it by you, just to make sure that you agree with this. Do you agree? By the way, this is a nice sort of patch to have. The file is OSG specific, but if it was generalized a tiny bit, it might be useful to other Globus users. I'm not asking for it now, but it might be worth your consideration. Thanks, -alain
