Bugzilla – Bug 4747
Need evaluation of patch to JobManager.pm

In Open Science Grid, we modify JobDescription.pm. The patch is currently only
installed on OSG sites (at install time, not build time), so I haven't been too
worried about it.
The purpose of the patch is to fill a job's environment with variables that are
local to the site. The variables are all within a Bourne shell script.
I'm thinking of applying the patch for all VDT installations, not just OSG
ones, and I want to make sure that there are no side effects of this patch. It
*should* be the case that if the file
$GLOBUS_LOCATION/../monitoring/osg-attributes.conf does not exist, that it has
no effect on other installations.
Charles Bacon and I agreed that it would be good to run it by you, just to make
sure that you agree with this. Do you agree?
By the way, this is a nice sort of patch to have. The file is OSG specific, but
if it was generalized a tiny bit, it might be useful to other Globus users. I'm
not asking for it now, but it might be worth your consideration.
